DAG Wealth
Tax-Aware Investment Overlays
Investment decisions can have tax implications. We work with clients and their tax professionals to help ensure portfolio management decisions are considered within the context of their broader financial picture.
Section 01
Tax-aware portfolio management
Investment decisions can have tax implications. As part of the wealth management process, we consider how portfolio management decisions may affect a client's broader financial picture and coordinate with outside tax professionals when appropriate.
Tax-aware implementation
Portfolio decisions may take into account holding periods, realized gains and losses, account types, and other factors that can impact after-tax outcomes.
Account and asset location
Different investments may be more appropriate in different account types. We consider taxable, retirement, and other account structures when developing portfolio recommendations.
Charitable and gifting discussions
For clients considering charitable giving or family wealth transfer strategies, investment decisions may be coordinated alongside conversations with outside legal and tax professionals.
Liquidity planning
Large purchases, business opportunities, distributions, and other liquidity needs can have investment and tax implications that may warrant advance planning.
Coordination with outside advisors
When appropriate, we work alongside a client's CPA, attorney, and other professional advisors to help ensure investment decisions are considered within the broader financial plan.
Section 02
An ongoing process, not a year-end exercise
Investment decisions can have tax implications throughout the year. As part of our wealth management process, we review portfolios on an ongoing basis and consider factors such as asset location, realized gains and losses, liquidity needs, charitable giving discussions, and other planning considerations. When appropriate, we coordinate with a client's tax and legal professionals to help ensure investment decisions are evaluated within the context of their broader financial plan.
