What goes wrong with size on-exchange

Slippage that moves the market against you on size
Front-running by algos watching public order books
Withdrawal limits and delays after large fills
Settlement risk between exchange and custodian

Use the desk for

  • Single-trade size meaningful enough that slippage would cost real money
  • Building or unwinding a position over a period without telegraphing intent
  • Funding a new SMA, IRA, or entity-titled account from a large transfer
  • Liquidating a concentrated position for a tax event or distribution

Benefits of agency trading

Reduced conflicts of interest

The trading platform acts as an agent, not the counterparty to the trade.

Better execution

Orders are routed across multiple exchanges and liquidity providers to seek the best available price.

Deeper liquidity

Access to multiple market makers and venues rather than a single order book.

Lower counterparty risk

Assets can remain within independent qualified custody instead of sitting on an exchange.

Institutional-grade controls

Enhanced oversight, reporting, and compliance processes.

How execution works

01

Trade Request

You provide the asset, transaction size, and desired action. Our team coordinates the execution request through our institutional trading and custody infrastructure.

02

Execution Review

Execution details, pricing, and transaction information are reviewed prior to trade placement. Trades are executed through agency-based trading arrangements designed to access institutional liquidity across multiple providers.

03

Settlement Within Qualified Custody

Assets remain within the independent qualified custody framework throughout the transaction process. Purchases and sales settle directly to your custody account.

04

Reporting & Recordkeeping

Trade confirmations, account records, and transaction history are maintained through the custody platform and reflected in your account reporting.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Question 01 of 06

What size makes agency execution the right call?

It depends on the asset and current market depth. For major digital assets, six-figure trades and up often clear better off-exchange than on. The desk will be direct with you when an order would clear fine on-screen.
