CIO
LinkedInLouis Hsu is Chief Investment Officer at DAG Wealth. A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, he holds the CFA®, CFP®, CAIA, and FRM designations along with the FINRA Series 7 and 63. He began his career in 2008, during the Global Financial Crisis, researching hedge funds and helping institutional clients allocate to managers with strong track records and risk practices. He has since held portfolio management roles at Grayscale (SVP, Portfolio Management & Trading), Silicon Valley Bank, Franklin Templeton, and BlackRock, working across alpha-driven and beta-driven strategies including crypto. Over time he has gravitated toward client-centric rather than strategy-centric investing, and is focused on bringing institutional best practices in traditional finance to crypto-native clients while helping them separate signal from noise. His quantitative, engineering-minded approach is paired with a genuine interest in learning from and empathizing with people, an ethic shaped by entrepreneurial grandparents and parents. Outside of work he spends time with his two kids, works out and plays sports, and follows trends in AI and science fiction. He reminds clients that there are rarely sure things in investing and that he brings both institutional rigor and an open mind to meet each client where they are. He lives in Old Greenwich, Connecticut.
